This document attempts to objectively compare a select number of applications that address the Application Virtualisation and the Application Management Lifecycle process.
These applications deal with the challenges of application deployment, integration, support, management, and termination. All the applications in this document perform these operations using various techniques including virtualisation, isolation, and redirection.
Application isolation/virtualisation although not new, is only now becoming an industry buzzword in the wake of successful enterprise implementation of Hypervisor based virtualisation technologies used to consolidate data centres. Applications can be installed without adversely affecting the operating system files or registry. This makes the client environment more stable as applications conflicts are practically eliminated.
